Partners in History: Danbury TAH Grant

The purpose of the project is to engage young citizens in the democratic process with the instruction in United States government at the local level. This includes the awareness of duties, responsibilities, and rights of a United States citizen and potential voter. The project is designed to demand voluntary participation within the community. The project is set up to make "politics" relevant for students to connect with the democratic institutions. The participants will gain an understanding of current events occurring in their own environment. Lastly, the project will prepare students to participate as thoughtful, informed, educated, responsible citizens who can shape public policy and the establishment of authority in the municipality.
